The 2011 National Episcopal Historians and Archivists (NEHA) Conference was held Tuesday, June 14th through Friday, June 17th, 2011 in Portland, Oregon. The conference was hosted by the Diocese of Oregon with the conference hotel of University Place Hotel and Conference Center.

There were a number of wonderful events including tours of Elk Rock Gardens, the Diocesan Archives, the Rev. St. Michael Fackler’s homestead, Butteville and Champoeg, the town of St. Paul and 1838 Roman Catholic Church, the Pacific Northwest Methodist Archives, Salem, Willamette University, State Capitol., Mt. Angel Benedictine Abbey and Library, and Old St. John’s Church, Milwaukie, now at Oaks Park. A special German Dinner was held at the Glockenspiel Restaurant.

  • 50th Anniversary of NEHA, Remembrance of Larry Fish
  • Cathedral Tour by Dr. Ann Weikel, Emerita Professor of History, Portland State University
  • The Rev. William Richmond, Early Missionary to Oregon by Jean Ballard Terepka
  • The Rev. Reuben Nevius, Pioneer by Gregg Nelson
  • Sir Francis Drake in Early Oregon by James Baxendale
