Come Before, Stay After |
New Haven abounds with possibilities for historical and archival interactions in the community. We believe participants may want to plan to come a day or two before or stay a day or two after the conference. What is there to do? Scroll to the bottom of the page to see sample activities that could be done over a half-day, full-day or even two-days.

Ticket to Ride Information: Places to Go in a Three-Hour Land Transport Radius |
Historians, archivists and anyone interested in ways in which New Haven, CT may be understood as a launch pad for visiting our region will enjoy the fact that economically-speaking our local history finds itself based on the history of the shipping, carriage and rail trades. Our lists below may also help you decide which city to fly in and out of, if that is how you are getting to the 2018 NEHA Conference. At the very least, our lists may prove to be the incentive you need to take time before and/or after the conference to explore our region! Transport was naturally instrumental, we might add, to the growth of Anglican and Episcopal spheres of influence on this side of the pond. Tickets to Ride have always been a part of us here in New Haven!
Below please find our starter guide for your travel planning, based on hours driving from New Haven by car. Hours to traverse may vary by train or bus. For starters, you might want to take a look at www.ctvisit.com and www.connecticutmag.com (particularly their summer issues). Now it’s in your hands: Go explore on the internet and plan your extended stay! |
