Not unexpectedly, but with great regret, NEHA’s Board Executive Committee has decided in conjunction with the leadership of Episcopal Women’s History Project to cancel this summer’s joint NEHA-EWHP conference. This difficult decision was made not merely with an eye to the physical health of our members and all the communities of which they’re parts but also with attention to our two boards’ fiduciary responsibilities: a potentially money-losing endeavor, such as an inadequately attended conference, would threaten the financial stability of our organizations. Although we fervently hope that by July, our nation will be on the elusive “other side” of this crisis, we have decided that our current questions and quandaries about conference registration and subsequent attendance make continued conference planning irresponsible.
Many NEHA members, like our EWHP colleagues, offered wonderful proposals for the conference; thank you so much. Save them for whenever we’re next together!
In the meantime, the NEHA Board will be meeting virtually to keep our fine organization vibrant and productive in the strange present era and to formulate plans for our shared future.
In this challenging Lenten season, we extend our affectionate greetings to each other in the faithful certainty that Easter will come.
